A few names are ambiguous, so they are read like this:
- oz is a weight ounce, but
8 oz to mlis read as US fluid ounces because the target is a volume. - gal, cup, pint and fl oz mean US units. Use
uk galorimp galfor imperial gallons. - hp is mechanical horsepower; PS is metric horsepower.
- MB, GB are decimal (1 GB = 1,000 MB). Type
MiBorGiBfor binary sizes.

Things to keep in mind
- Months and years are averages (1 year = 365.2425 days, 1 month = 30.436875 days). For the exact span between two dates, use the date difference calculator.
- Temperatures cannot be added together, because their zero points differ.
- Currencies are not units; use the currency converter.

Which units are supported?
The table at the bottom lists every supported unit symbol by type — length, weight, area, volume, temperature, speed, pressure, energy, power, data size, time and angle. Full names and plurals work too.
How precise are the results?
Results are shown to eight significant digits without trimming whole-number digits. The copy button copies the unrounded value.
Is anything I type sent to a server?
No. Parsing and conversion run entirely in your browser.
